Quizzes check that training has sunk in. You meet them in two places: a quiz course in your Training Courses list, and a document quiz in Document Training, where a controlled document is completed by passing a quiz rather than by acknowledging it. The two look similar but behave differently when you finish, most importantly around pass marks and retakes, so this article covers each in turn.
Where to find it: Training Centre > Training Courses > Start Training for a quiz course, or Training Centre > Document Training > Take Quiz for a document quiz.
The two kinds of quiz
| Quiz course | Document quiz | |
|---|---|---|
| Found in | Training Courses | Document Training, card marked QUIZ |
| Finish button | Submit | Confirm |
| Pass mark | None in the portal. Submitting completes the course and records your score. | The document’s passing score, shown as Passing Score (80% unless set otherwise). |
| Result shown | Your answers, read-only. The score appears in Archives. | Score, PASSED or FAILED, straight away. |
| Retake | No. Your supervisor can assign the course again. | Yes, after a fail, as often as needed. |
| Then | Sign the training declaration. | Sign to complete the pass. |
How marking works
- Quizzes are marked by QTRACA’s server, not on your device. The correct answers are never sent to the portal, so they cannot be seen in the page or worked out from it, and a score cannot be altered on the device.
- Your score is the percentage of questions answered correctly, rounded down. A question left unanswered counts as wrong.
- The portal does not show which questions you got wrong or what the right answers were. This is deliberate: the same questions are used for everyone and for retakes.
- Your answers are kept, and your company uses them to see which questions people find hard, so poorly worded questions can be fixed.
Quiz courses

- Press Start Training on the quiz course. The course name is at the top with a counter such as 0 of 5 answered.
- For each question, tap an answer. Multiple-choice answers are lettered A to D; true-or-false questions show T and F. Tap a different answer to change your mind.
- Press Save at the bottom to keep your answers and come back later, or Cancel to leave without saving.
- When every question is answered, press Submit.

After Submit, the course is completed. Your answers are shown read-only, each question marked Answered, and the Training Declaration appears below them. Draw your signature and press Save; see Completing a training course for the declaration. Your score is listed against the course in Archives, for example SCORE: 80.0%.
Check before you press Submit. Submit does not warn about unanswered questions, and a quiz course cannot be retaken from the portal. Whatever your score, the course counts as completed; your supervisor decides whether a low score means you should do it again.
Document quizzes

- Press Take Quiz on the document’s card. The top card shows the document number, version, status, due date and Passing Score.
- Press Read Document to read the document above the questions, and Hide Document to put it away again. You can look back at it at any point before you confirm.
- Answer each question. A question shows Not Entered until you pick an answer, then Entered.
- Press Confirm. Every question must be answered first; if one is not, a message names it: “question” must be entered before confirmation.
- Your result appears straight away.

Finish in one sitting. A document quiz has no Save button: your answers are kept only when you confirm. If you leave the page first, you start again with no answers selected.
Passed

A score at or above the passing score shows PASSED and the status changes to PASSED. The pass is recorded straight away, and the document counts as done. Below the score, Complete Training asks you to confirm I confirm that I have completed the quiz for document and understand the content of this document.
- Draw your signature under Sign Here. Save & Complete stays greyed out until you do.
- Press Save & Complete. You return to the home screen, or to your learning path if you started the quiz from one.

If you leave without signing, the document stays in Document Training marked PASSED with a Sign button, which reopens this panel. Once signed, it leaves the list.
Failed

A score below the passing score shows FAILED with You did not meet the passing score. Please review the document and try again. The document stays in Document Training marked FAILED, and opening it again with Take Quiz brings you back to this result.
Retaking a failed document quiz
- Re-read the document, paying attention to the parts you were unsure of.
- Open the quiz with Take Quiz and press Retake Quiz. The questions come back with no answers selected.
- Answer them and press Confirm.
There is no limit on retakes. Each attempt replaces the previous score on your record, so the score kept is the one from your latest attempt.
Availability and permissions
- Quiz courses are part of the Training module. Document quizzes also need Document Management.
- You can take only quizzes assigned to you. A quiz course with prerequisites stays locked until they are completed; see Completing a training course.
- Finishing a quiz needs a connection. The Confirm button is hidden while your device is offline.
Things to know
- The pass mark belongs to the document, so different documents can have different pass marks. Check Passing Score at the top before you start.
- An overdue quiz can still be taken. Due dates flag lateness; they do not lock you out.
- Quiz courses in a learning path count as completed once submitted, whatever the score.
- A new version of the document can bring the quiz back even after you passed, depending on your company’s retraining rule. See Reading and acknowledging a document.
