Status badges on lists and detail screens use a standard colour by default. You can override them per status, so the states that matter in your operation stand out at a glance — a held receipt in red, a posted one in grey, whatever suits how your team reads a screen.
Where to set it: Dynamic List under Setup.
Which screens can be coloured
Each screen has its own list, so the same status word can be coloured differently in different parts of the system:
| Field Name | Colours the status badges on |
|---|---|
| Inwards Goods Status Colors | Goods receipts |
| Dispatch Status Colors | Dispatches |
| Batch Status Colors | Batches |
| Form Status Colors | Forms |
| Inventory Movement Status Colors | Stock movements |
| Inventory Adjustment Status Colors | Stock adjustments |
| Inventory Transfer Status Colors | Stock transfers |
Setting a colour
A status colour is a Dynamic List entry, and it uses the fields in a particular way:
| Field | What to put in it |
|---|---|
| Field Name | The screen you are colouring, from the table above. |
| Field Group | The status code you are colouring — not a description. One entry per status. |
| Code | The colour. A background colour on its own, or a background and a text colour separated by a comma. |
So one entry sets one status on one screen. To colour four receipt statuses you create four entries, all with the same Field Name and different Field Groups.
Background only, or background and text
- One colour in Code sets the badge background, and the text stays as it is.
- Two colours separated by a comma set the background first and the text colour second — for example a dark background with white text, which you will need where the background is too dark to read against.
When a custom colour is applied the badge’s border is removed, so it renders as a solid block of your colour rather than a tinted outline.
Finding the status code
The Field Group must match the status code the system uses, which is the status shown on the list in lower case with underscores in place of spaces.
| Screen | Status codes |
|---|---|
| Goods receipts | requested · created · received · partially_posted · posted |
| Dispatches | requested · created · dispatched · partially_posted · posted |
For the other screens, read the status off the list and convert it the same way — Partially Posted becomes partially_posted.
A Field Group that does not match a real status simply does nothing. The entry saves, and the badge keeps its default colour, because nothing ever matches it. If a colour is not appearing, check the status code first.
Things to know
- Statuses you do not colour keep the default. You can colour one status and leave the rest alone.
- The colour applies on both the list and the detail screen for that document, so a status looks the same wherever you meet it.
- Colour is per account, not per user — everyone sees the same scheme.
- Choose for contrast, not decoration. A badge nobody can read is worse than the default.
